Second qualifying race at the 2019 Grand Prix d’Amérique, the Grand Prix du Bourbonnais, played Sunday, December 9 at Vincenens Hippodrome in Paris, confirmed the status of Délia du Pommereux among the contenders for victory in the world championship next January 27.
The 2018 Bourbonnais Grand Prix resulted in a thrilling run and a spectacular finish. Competitors who animated during the course could not support the comparison against the waiters. Long pointed at the back of the pack, Délia du Pommereux concluded at the speed of the wind to win brilliantly. Having progressed in her wake, Bélina Josselyn also finished in a pleasant way, but slightly too late. The winner, second in the Grand Prix de Bretagne (first qualifying event), was already qualified for the Grand Prix d’Amérique on 27 January. His dauphine, disqualified on November 18, obtains the precious sesame. Third of the Grand Prix de Bretagne, Bird Parker has signed the same ranking.
Carat Williams also finished strong but settled for fourth place. Briac Dark, Bold Eagle and Uza Josselyn, long seen at the forefront, finished respectively 5th, 6th and 7th. The next two qualifying races at the Grand Prix d’Amérique will be held on Sunday, December 23rd. The Critérium Continental, reserved for the elite of 4 years, and the Prix Tenor of Baune, which will pit the best 5 years, will offer an automatic ticket to their winner.
