A few protagonists of Prix d’Amerique Races ZEturf competition already have great experience of the Legend Race, a summit event scheduled for Sunday 31 January. Billie de Montfort (our photo), Bahia Quesnot, Délia du Pommereux and Davidson du Pont have already participated several times in the World Harness Trotting Championship. The first city, which is admittedly not qualified but whose high earnings ensure it to be at the start of the 2021 edition, has already tried its luck three times. His best result so far is eighth place in 2018. The other three stars named, who have achieved their qualification, will line up for the third time in the Legend Race. Davidson du Pont had the most convincing rankings: fourth in 2019 and second last year. Délia du Pommereux finished sixth in 2020 and was disqualified the year before. Finally, Bahia Quesnot placed seventh in 2020 and was unplaced in 2019.
Will their experience allow them to make a difference in the 2021 Prix d’Amerique Legend Race? In any case, it will be a definite asset. Davidson du Pont is already shaping up to be the second favorite behind the phenomenon Face Time Bourbon and Délia du Pommereux is also coming up in many predictions. Looking back, the record for the number of participations in the World Championship is jointly held by Amazone B and Timoko with six attempts. The mare won it twice, in 1930 and 1933, she also finished second in 1931, fifth in 1932 and 1935, and not placed in 1934. The resident of Richard Westerink did not manage to triumph but placed fifth in 2012 and 2014, seventh in 2013, third in 2015 and second in 2016. He was unplaced in 2017. Behind them comes in particular the extraordinary Ourasi, who entered five Prix d’Amérique Legend Race between 1986 and 1990, for four victories and an incredible third place in 1989!
