After a festival of intense moments and strong emotions, the Prix d’Amérique Races ZEturf 2021-2022 competition will end like fireworks on Sunday February 27 at the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes. The Prix de Paris Marathon Race, last of the three Finals of the fabulous saga, will thrill the public thanks to an exceptional cast of 14 champions.
The most extravagant superlatives all apply to the Prix de Paris Marathon Race. This breathtaking Group I will take participants on a very long journey of 4,150 meters. It is the longest course possible at Paris-Vincennes for one of the longest Trotting races on the planet. The protagonists will complete two laps of the famous Grande Piste and cross the formidable climb twice. This demanding and spectacular exercise requires both endurance and speed. Only a real crack can triumph.
The 2022 edition promises hair-raising suspense linked to a thrilling fight. The main heroes of the two previous Finals answered the call of this prestigious event, in particular the first three of the Prix d’Amérique Legend Race. Davidson du Pont, brilliant winner on January 30, will he erase his lackluster attempt in the Prix de France Speed Race? Galius, his dolphin beaten by a breath, will he confirm his status as a rising star and aim for the top step of the podium thanks to his inexhaustible fund? Will Flamme du Goutier also be able to make people forget their disappointment on February 13 and reveal their true face? The resident of Thierry Duvaldestin, winner of the Prix de Cornulier on January 23, is as gifted in the Sulky as in the Stirrup, a particularity that can be found in several previous winners of the Prix de Paris Marathon Race.
Behind this trio of shock, other candidates have the means to play the leading roles. The specialists mostly place their trust in Diable de Vauvert, second last year and carefully prepared for this great meeting, Ampia Mede SM (our photo), an impressive collector of victories, Etonnant, the defending champion, Gu d’Héripré, who has solid references at the highest level, and Fakir du Lorault, noticed in the Prix de France Speed Race. Décoloration, Calle Crown, Fric du Chene and Chica de Joudes represent outsiders to watch closely in a Prix de Paris Marathon Race that is as open and attractive as one could wish.
