Gabriele Gelormini created a sensation by winning the Prix d’Amérique Races ZEturf Qualif # 5 – Prix de Bourgogne on Sunday January 2nd at Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes. The most French of Italian drivers was associated for the first time with Cokstile in the Prix d’Amérique Races competition. After his victory, a dilemma arose: which champion would the crack pilot choose during the imminent Finals? Would he remain loyal to Diable de Vauvert? Together they won the Prix d’Amérique Races ZEturf Qualif # 1 – Prix de Bretagne in 2020, then finished sixth in the Prix d’Amérique Legend Race and second in the Prix de Paris Marathon Race. Or was he going to be at Cokstile‘s sulky again?
The native of Turin gave his answer in the Paris-Turf newspaper last Sunday. He has decided to drive Cokstile in the next races of the Prix d’Amerique Races competition. “The choice was cruel to make, because I love Diable de Vauvert …”, he explained in the columns of the daily. He will therefore drive it on Sunday January 16 in Qualif # 6 – Prix de Belgique and two weeks later in the Prix d’Amerique Legend Race. Tony Le Beller, older brother of the horse trainer, will be associated with Diable de Vauvert next Sunday in Qualif # 6.
