The Prix d’Amérique Races ZEturf competition once again aroused general enthusiasm on Sunday, December 12 at the Paris-Vincennes Hippodrome. After a dizzying suspense, Etonnant beat the all-time favorite Face Time Bourbon in Qualif # 2 – Prix du Bourbonnais.
He had already shown a sparkling form in the Qualif # 1 – Prix de Bretagne three weeks earlier by securing a splendid second place. Etonnant has further raised its level in the Prix d’Amérique Races ZEturf Qualif # 2 – Prix du Bourbonnais. Anthony Barrier’s partner managed to triumph in front of the phenomenon Face Time Bourbon, which was announced to be unbeatable before the race as he impressed in Qualif # 1. Rebella Matters, who finished pleasantly, obtained the third place, synonymous with qualification for the Finals; Prix d’Amerique Legend Race, Prix de France Speed Race, Prix de Paris Marathon Race. The winning duo were obviously already qualified following the opening round of this decidedly thrilling competition.
A breathless unfolding
The race scenario was ideal for those looking for twists and turns. As on November 21, Face Time Bourbon took charge of operations approximately halfway through. He even pulled away as he knows so well in the final corner. However, Eric Raffin’s accomplice relaxed slightly on the final straight. Etonnant then placed a magnificent acceleration to cap his rival on the post. Richard Westerink’s resident took the opportunity to smash the Group II record in 1’11’4 with one second. This breathtaking performance confirms his victory in the Prix de Paris Marathon Race 2021. Anthony Barrier, driver of the winner, expressed his joy after the event at the microphone of Equidia: “Etonnant has been very strong today. Sure, Face Time Bourbon recovered in the end, but my partner gave his best again. It has gained in maneuverability. His current form is exceptional, hopefully that will last until the Prix d’Amerique. ”
