Sundays follow one another at Hippodrome Paris-Vincennesand the Prix d’Amérique Races ZEturf Qualifs follow one another. Place at the end of the week in the Qualif # 5-Prix de Bourgogne whose entry list includes 27 names before the first package on Wednesday, including that of the exceptional Billie de Montfort, winner of the event in 2020 one year later Bold Eagle and a year before Face Time Bourbon, also trained by Sébastien Guarato, and returning Gu d’Héripré.
This Qualif # 5 should be the opportunity for several international horses to make their debut in the meeting and even for some their debut on the Parisian bottom. This is the case, among others, of the Swedish Don Fanucci Zet and the Italian Vernissage Grif. Coached by Daniel Redén, the 5-year-old is none other than the 2021 Elitloppet winner in the record time of 1’08’’9 in kilometer reduction. He prepared his trip to Paris with three victories in his country. Son of champion Varenne, the 7-year-old Vernissage Grif won two Groups I this year and finished fourth in the final of the Lottery Grand Prix won by Face Time Bourbon.
Trained by Alessandro Gocciadoro, Vernissage Grif is a training companion of Vivid Wise As (our photo). The latter is double winner of Group I in France this year (Grand Critérium de Vitesse de la Côte d’Azur and Prix de l’Atlantique) He has not raced since a victory at the end of October in the Grand Prix des Nations in Milan ( Group I) and will also line up at the start of this Qualif # 5 where he will find Eric Raffin in his sulky. He was third in the penultimate edition and second last year.
