Queen L <\/strong>is the last trotter to have registered a double with the Prix de Belgique and Grand Prix d\u2019Am\u00e9rique in the same year and she has charted the course for foreign competitors in the \u201c4th<\/sup> B\u201d \u2013 the last of the four prep races ahead of the world trotting drivers\u2019 championships. Since 1993, 10 editions of the Prix de Belgique have been won by horses who hail from foreign shores, and most of them have been from Scandinavia. Queen L<\/strong> (1993 and 1994) and the Norwegian Yarrah Boko<\/strong> (2013 and 2014) have both excelled twice, first winning the Prix de Belgique and then confidently taking the Grand Prix d\u2019Am\u00e9rique two weeks later. 2011\u2019s winner, Maharajah<\/strong>, missed out by a whisker to Ready Cash<\/strong> in the Prix d\u2019Am\u00e9rique, before being crowned the winner of France\u2019s showpiece trotting event three years later.
