The Prix d’Amérique Races ZEturf Qualif # 5 – Prix de Bourgogne gave rise to a spectacular race full of twists and turns on Sunday January 2 at Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes. Italian Cokstile won brilliantly ahead of compatriot Vivid Wise As and French Billie de Montfort. All three qualified for the Finals of the Prix d’Amerique Races ZEturf competition.

Many twists and turns punctuated the Qualif # 5 – Prix de Bourgogne, in particular the disqualifications of several prominent horses, such as Delia du Pommereux, Zacon Gio and Davidson du Pont. One of the most anticipated horses, the super-fast Vivid Wise As, quickly took the lead and led at a high pace for a long time. Cokstile waited for the last turn to accelerate. After having had his rival in sight, he easily dominated him near the post to sign a magnificent success. Vivid Wise As, second last year, retained second place ahead of the tireless and courageous Billie de Montfort, winner of the event in December 2019 and still at the top international level despite being 11 years old, the maximum age allowed in France.

The visitors clearly beat our tricolors since two transalpines formed the winning duo. Cokstile, Vivid Wise As and Billie de Montfort obtained their qualification for the Finals of the Prix d’Amérique Races ZeTURF Competition: the Prix d’Amérique Legend Race, a summit confrontation scheduled in four weeks, the Prix de France Speed Race (13 February) and the Prix de Paris Marathon Race (February 27). The final Qualifier, number 6 – Prix de Belgique, will be played on Sunday January 16th.

Cokstile‘s driver Gabriele Gelormini wasn’t exactly surprised by his success at the Equidia microphone: “It’s a big win today. I was very confident before the event because my partner had just run remarkably. Cokstile is an excellent horse and displays a resplendent form. I would also like to underline the magnificent work of his trainer Erik Bondo. I don’t know yet if I will lead him in the Prix d’Amerique again. My choice between him and Diable de Vauvert has not yet been finalized. ”
